DAR Chapter to Host Free America 250 Celebration in Hamlet on Nov. 10

HAMLET, N.C. — The General Henry William Harrington Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) will host a free, family-friendly America 250 community celebration on Nov. 10 at The Cole Auditorium in Hamlet. The event is part of nationwide efforts to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States, which will be observed in 2026.

The DAR chapter, named after a local Revolutionary War figure, is organizing the event to engage the community with the area's historical ties to the founding era. While specific programming details were not immediately available, the celebration is expected to feature educational activities, patriotic tributes, and opportunities for residents to learn about the nation's semiquincentennial. The Cole Auditorium, a central venue in Hamlet, will host the free gathering.

The America 250 initiative has been gaining momentum across the country as states and localities prepare for the 2026 milestone. This event in Hamlet reflects a broader grassroots effort to involve citizens in commemorating the nation's history. Organizers encourage families to attend and participate in the celebration. Further information on the event schedule and activities will be released by the DAR chapter in the coming weeks.
