Nemo Rangers Stun Carrigaline in Added Time to Reach Fifth Straight Premier SFC Final
Nemo Rangers defeated Carrigaline with a late goal in added time to reach their fifth consecutive Premier SFC final. Mark Cronin starred for Nemo, while Carrigaline were left to rue missed opportunities.
Nemo Rangers secured their place in a fifth consecutive Cork Premier Senior Football Championship final with a dramatic late victory over Carrigaline at Páirc Uí Chaoimh on Sunday. Mark Cronin was the hero, scoring the decisive goal in added time to break Carrigaline hearts.
Carrigaline had matched Nemo for much of the game but were left to rue a series of missed chances, including a penalty, that would have put them in control. Nemo's experience and composure in the closing stages proved crucial, with Cronin's strike sealing a 1-15 to 0-16 win. Manager Paul O'Donovan praised his side's resilience, saying: 'We never panicked, and Mark showed great nerve.'
The victory sets up a final showdown against either St Finbarr's or Castlehaven, as Nemo chase a record-extending 23rd title. Carrigaline, meanwhile, will reflect on a season of progress but will be haunted by their missed opportunities on the big stage.
