Robinhood Unleashes 24/7 AI Trading Agent and 10x Crypto Perps

Robinhood has announced an AI agent that will trade on behalf of customers around the clock, including at 2 am, alongside the introduction of 10x crypto perpetual futures. The move signals a major push into automated trading and leveraged crypto products, potentially reshaping retail investing.

Robinhood, the popular retail brokerage, announced on Wednesday that it will soon offer customers an AI-powered trading agent capable of executing trades 24/7, even at 2 am, along with the ability to trade 10x leveraged crypto perpetual futures. The announcement, made via the company's official channels, marks a significant expansion into automated and high-risk trading products.

The AI agent is designed to trade on behalf of users around the clock, leveraging machine learning to make investment decisions without human intervention. Meanwhile, the introduction of 10x crypto perpetuals—derivative contracts that allow traders to speculate on cryptocurrency prices with leverage—caters to growing demand for sophisticated crypto products. Robinhood has not yet specified a launch date or detailed the AI's decision-making process, but the move follows similar offerings from competitors like eToro and Webull.

The announcement raises questions about regulatory oversight and investor protection, as leveraged crypto products can lead to substantial losses. Consumer advocates may voice concerns about the AI agent's transparency and accountability. Robinhood's stock (HOOD) showed little immediate movement, but analysts suggest the news could attract more active traders. The company is expected to roll out these features in phases, pending regulatory approvals.
