Srinagar, Oct 11: Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale today highlighted various welfare schemes of the Union Government and stressed effective implementation of measures aimed at empowering underprivileged and vulnerable sections of society during his visit to Jammu and Kashmir.

During a Town Hall meeting in Anantnag, Athawale highlighted the government's focus on the welfare of Other Backward Classes (OBCs) and other disadvantaged sections, asserting that the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was committed to the progress and empowerment of every community.
The Minister reviewed welfare-related issues with officers and directed the concerned departments to address the grievances of orphans, elderly people and other vulnerable groups, emphasising the need for effective implementation of government schemes.
He highlighted key initiatives, including Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and UJALA Yojana, aimed at strengthening financial inclusion, self-employment, housing, healthcare, access to clean cooking fuel and energy-efficient lighting.
