Srisailam Dasara Festival Kicks Off October 11 with Grand Rituals

The Dasara festivities at the Srisailam temple in Andhra Pradesh will commence on October 11, featuring daily special 'archanas' for Lord Mallikarjuna Swamy and special pujas for Goddess Bhramaramba, along with 'Rudra Yagam' and 'Chandi Yagam'. The annual Dasara festivities at the renowned Srisailam temple in Andhra Pradesh are set to commence on October 11, temple authorities announced. The celebrations will feature daily special 'archanas' for Lord Mallikarjuna Swamy and special pujas for Goddess Bhramaramba, along with the performance of 'Rudra Yagam' and 'Chandi Yagam' throughout the festival period.

Srisailam, one of the twelve Jyotirlinga temples and a Shakti Peetha, attracts lakhs of devotees during Dasara. The temple management has made elaborate arrangements for the smooth conduct of rituals, including crowd control, accommodation, and prasadam distribution. Official sources stated that the festivities will conclude on Vijaya Dashami, with traditional fervor and gaiety.

The Dasara celebrations at Srisailam hold immense religious significance, drawing pilgrims from across India. The event is expected to boost local economy and tourism in the region. Authorities have urged devotees to follow COVID-19 protocols and cooperate with security personnel. The temple committee has also arranged special darshan queues and online booking for sevas to facilitate the devotees.
