Srinagar, Oct 10: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday addressed the School Leader of the Year 2026 Summit & Awards in New Delhi, which brought together leading educators and school leaders to celebrate excellence, innovation and institutional leadership in K-12 education.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister emphasised that a future-ready education system must prepare students for challenges and opportunities beyond examinations. He highlighted the importance of developing critical thinking, digital literacy, adaptability and a strong sense of shared responsibility among young learners.

Omar Abdullah underscored that meaningful transformation in education requires collective efforts by governments, educators, educational institutions and communities. He stressed the need to work together to nurture confident, capable and responsible citizens equipped to meet the demands of a rapidly changing world.
