The Nicaragua-flagged MT Petro Dolphin, also carrying 11 Indian seafarers, suffered a drone attack at Sohar Anchorage off Oman. Nine crew members were rescued and are safe, while two remain missing. Local Coast Guard search-and-rescue operations are underway.
The Embassy of India in Muscat is monitoring the situation and remains in continuous contact with the authorities.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) condemned the attacks as deeply concerning, warning that they risk further aggravating the volatile situation. It said the Embassy is coordinating with Omani authorities and ship management companies to assist the missing seafarers and support the crews.
