Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy on [date] stated that any land acquisition for the proposed high-speed rail corridors connecting Hyderabad with Chennai, Bengaluru, and Pune would be illegal without a formal requisition from the Central government. He clarified that no such requisition has been sent to the State governments, as alignment studies for the projects are still under way.

The Minister's remarks come amid growing speculation about the status of these ambitious infrastructure projects, which are part of the government's broader plan to expand high-speed rail connectivity across India. The Hyderabad-Chennai, Hyderabad-Bengaluru, and Hyderabad-Pune corridors are among several routes identified for feasibility studies. However, without official requisition, any land acquisition would lack legal standing, potentially delaying progress and raising concerns among stakeholders.

The statement underscores the procedural complexities involved in large-scale infrastructure projects, where coordination between the Centre and States is crucial. It also highlights the need for transparency in land acquisition processes to avoid disputes. As alignment studies continue, the focus will shift to when and how the government plans to move forward with these corridors, which are expected to boost economic growth and regional connectivity. The next steps likely involve finalizing alignments and initiating formal requisitions, but timelines remain uncertain.
