Khawzawl DC Felicitates Jeevan Raksha Padak Awardee C. Laldinkimi
Khawzawl Deputy Commissioner K. Vanlalthiana today felicitated Ms. C. Laldinkimi, a resident of Kawlkulh village, for receiving the prestigious 'Jeevan Raksha Padak' award.
12th October, Khawzawl: During the felicitation ceremony held at his office, the DC expressed immense pride that a youth from Khawzawl District was among the roughly 30 individuals selected nationwide for this civilian life-saving award. He also thanked the Young Mizo Association (YMA) leaders for their efforts in bringing her heroic act to light.
Laldinkimi was honored for her exceptional bravery during an incident in early 2025. While visiting a river with friends, one of her male friends began to drown. After failing to rescue him using a bamboo stick, she bravely jumped into the water herself. Staying completely calm, she dragged him to the riverbank and performed CPR. The victim was later treated with oxygen at Saitual Hospital and made a full recovery by the next morning.
The felicitation program was attended by officials from the DC office and leaders of the Sub-Headquarters and Kawlkulh Group YMA. Laldinkimi officially received the Jeevan Raksha Padak from Mizoram Home Minister K. Sapdanga earlier on September 25.
