Injury Blow: Pittman Out, Rookie Germie Bernard Steps Up as Cowboys Face Colts

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. is facing a foot injury that could force him to miss multiple games, Coach Mike McCarthy indicated on Thursday. The injury comes at a critical juncture as the Cowboys prepare to face the Indianapolis Colts in Week 5, leaving the team shorthanded at the receiver position.

Pittman, a key offensive weapon, has been a reliable target for the Cowboys, but his absence will open the door for rookie receiver Germie Bernard. Bernard, who has appeared in all four games this season, is now expected to see an expanded role. "It will be all hands on deck," McCarthy said, emphasizing the need for the entire receiving corps to step up in Pittman's absence.

The Cowboys' depth will be tested as they aim to maintain their offensive momentum without one of their top playmakers. The team's ability to adapt could determine the outcome of Sunday's matchup against the Colts, and Bernard's performance will be closely watched as he gets his first significant opportunity to contribute.
