The Dasara Fine Arts and Handicrafts Camp began on Monday at the Chamarajendra Academy of Visual Arts (CAVA) in Mysuru, Karnataka, as part of the city's grand Dasara celebrations. The camp, organized by CAVA in association with the Department of Kannada and Culture, features a series of workshops and demonstrations in traditional painting, sculpture, and handicrafts, running until October 10.

The initiative aims to revive and promote Karnataka's rich artistic heritage, offering participants hands-on training from renowned artists and craftsmen. According to CAVA Director, the camp has attracted over 100 participants, including students and local artisans. "This camp is a unique opportunity for artists to learn from masters and for the public to appreciate our traditional arts," said a senior official from the Department of Kannada and Culture.

The camp is expected to culminate in an exhibition of the created works during the Dasara festivities, drawing attention to the importance of preserving traditional skills. Similar camps have been held in previous years, contributing to the cultural vibrancy of the Dasara season. The event underscores Mysuru's role as a hub for arts and culture in India.
