The Border Branch of Assam Police has arrested five suspected illegal Bangladeshi nationals in separate operations, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Border Branch) Kulendra Nath Deka said at a press conference.
Police conducted a raid at a hotel in Paltan Bazar and arrested four persons, including the hotel manager, on October 6. The DCP also said that 13 suspected illegal Bangaladeshi nationals were arrested from another hotel on Wednesday.
Further investigation into the cases is underway.
