1.6 Billion XRP Floods Binance: Sell-Off Fears Grip Crypto Markets
Over the past 30 days, approximately 1.6 billion XRP tokens flowed into Binance, the highest 30-day inflow since March, according to CryptoQuant. While such transfers often precede selling, analysts say the data alone does not confirm bearish pressure, especially as XRP futures trading remains near six-month highs. Technical analyst Ali Martinez sees a potential breakout if XRP holds $1.50 support, targeting $1.62.
Approximately 1.6 billion XRP tokens moved into Binance over the past 30 days, marking the largest 30-day inflow since March, according to on-chain analytics firm CryptoQuant. The surge in exchange inflows has raised concerns among investors about potential short-term selling pressure, as traders typically transfer tokens to exchanges when preparing to sell.
CryptoQuant noted that while the inflow is significant, it does not yet confirm that selling has occurred. The firm described the outlook as “cautious short-term,” warning that if Binance reserves continue to rise while XRP’s price weakens, selling pressure could intensify. Conversely, stable reserves and a holding price would suggest the market is absorbing the additional supply. Meanwhile, XRP futures trading remained robust in September, with Binance handling $32.36 billion in volume, followed by Bybit at $12.5 billion and OKX at $11.32 billion, indicating strong liquidity and trader engagement.
Technical analyst Ali Martinez offered a more optimistic view, noting that XRP has broken above a descending resistance line on the four-hour chart. He is watching the $1.50 support level closely; if held, it could pave the way for a move toward $1.62. The mixed signals leave investors weighing the risk of a sell-off against the potential for a bullish breakout, with market participants closely monitoring Binance reserves and price action in the coming days.
