Rohtang, October 7: President Droupadi Murmu visited the Atal Tunnel in Himachal Pradesh's Rohtang today.
At the Atal Tunnel, the President was received by Border Roads Organisation Director General, Lieutenant General Harpal Singh, who briefed her about the key features of the tunnel.
The strategically significant Atal Tunnel, which connects Manali to the Lahaul-Spiti valley throughout the year, was inaugurated in 2020 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
At the North Portal, a local women’s self-help group welcomed the President in traditional attire. President Murmu interacted with the women of Lahaul, acknowledged their greetings, and also spent some time admiring the snow-covered valleys of Rohtang.
