The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced a special drive from now until October 9 to enroll young and first-time eligible voters across the country. According to an official release from Chief Electoral Officer Archana Patnaik, special camps will be conducted in districts, preferably on October 10, to facilitate the enrollment process.

This initiative is part of the ECI's ongoing efforts to ensure maximum voter participation, particularly among the youth, ahead of the upcoming general elections. The drive targets individuals who have recently turned 18 or will be eligible to vote by the qualifying date. The ECI has urged all eligible citizens to take advantage of these camps and register themselves to exercise their democratic right.

The success of this drive could significantly impact the electoral landscape, as young voters form a substantial portion of the electorate. Political parties are expected to intensify their outreach to this demographic. The ECI's move underscores its commitment to an inclusive and participatory electoral process, with further updates expected after the camps conclude.
