Second measles case confirmed in Kane County, Illinois

Illinois health officials confirmed a second measles case in Kane County in a vaccinated person who had contact with the initial patient. Two Chicago hotels were identified as possible exposure locations, prompting the Illinois Department of Public Health to advise people who were present at the specified times and remain unvaccinated to contact a health care provider about post-exposure medication and monitor for symptoms. The department said the cases were not linked to the recent outbreak in Douglas and Moultrie counties or to other reported cases unrelated to that outbreak.
