Yashvir Singh secured his second major international medal of the year after winning silver in the men's javelin throw at the Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan. The Indian athlete produced a personal best of 85.72m with his final attempt but could not overtake Sri Lanka's Rumesh Pathirage for gold. Yashvir had earlier won bronze at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
