Naidu, Pawan Kalyan Vow to Turn Udayagiri into Industrial & Tourism Powerhouse

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan on Tuesday promised to transform Udayagiri into a major industrial and tourism hub, while also addressing pressing drinking water issues in the region. The announcement came during a public meeting in Udayagiri, where Naidu assured residents that the Rallapadu Reservoir would be used to resolve drinking water problems in Oletivari Palem, Gudur, and Lingasamudram mandals.

In a significant relief for thousands of residents, Naidu announced that ₹100 crore would be sanctioned to provide safe drinking water to 189 fluoride-affected villages. The move comes amid longstanding complaints of contaminated groundwater in the region, which has led to health issues. The Chief Minister emphasized that the government is committed to ensuring clean drinking water for all, and the Rallapadu Reservoir project is expected to be a pivotal factor for the area.

The promises of industrial and tourism development, coupled with the drinking water initiative, are seen as part of the TDP-JSP alliance's efforts to bolster its support base in the Rayalaseema region.
