Archiveteam Wiki Shake-Up: Encyclopedias Category Created Under Literature

Archiveteam, the volunteer-driven digital preservation group, has created a new category page titled 'Encyclopedias' on its wiki, assigning it to the existing 'Literature' category. The page was created with no additional descriptive content beyond the category tag, according to the raw wiki dispatch.

Archiveteam is known for its large-scale efforts to archive at-risk web content, including encyclopedias and other reference works that may disappear from the live web. The new category appears intended to group encyclopedia-related pages and projects under the broader Literature heading, though no official statement or rationale has been provided. The organization has not yet commented on the change.

The addition could improve discoverability of encyclopedia archiving projects within Archiveteam's wiki, but its practical impact remains unclear until content is populated. Observers of digital preservation efforts will watch whether this leads to more structured archiving of encyclopedic resources or remains a minor organizational tweak.
