16 kg Ganja Seized in Tamil Nadu; Four Arrested in RPF and Nemili Police Operations

In separate operations conducted in Tamil Nadu, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Nemili police seized a total of 16 kilograms of ganja and arrested four individuals. The seizures took place in and around Nemili and Arakkonam towns, where the suspects were allegedly engaged in peddling small quantities of marijuana at public places. The exact dates of the operations were not immediately disclosed.

The RPF, which is responsible for security on Indian Railways, and the local Nemili police carried out the raids independently, underscoring a coordinated effort to tackle drug trafficking in the region. The 16 kg haul is significant for a rural area, indicating a substantial supply chain. Officials have not yet released the identities of the arrested persons or details of the cases registered against them.

The arrests and seizures are part of a broader crackdown on narcotics in Tamil Nadu, where authorities have intensified efforts to curb the distribution of ganja. The operation highlights the role of multiple agencies in combating drug-related crimes. Further investigations are expected to uncover the source of the contraband and potential links to larger networks. The police have urged the public to report any suspicious activities related to drug peddling.
