Winter Run Mizoram to kick off Winter Festival

‘Winter Run Mizoram’, a 5-km fun run, will be held on 12 of December this year to open the Winter Festival, with the event aimed at promoting fitness and healthy living rather than competition.

Sports Minister Lalnghinglova Hmar discussed the event with representatives of various organisations on Tuesday and said the run was planned to encourage wider public participation in the festival.

The run will begin at Lammual, pass through Sikulpuikawn, Zodin and Chanmari, and return to Lammual.

Participants must be aged 14 or above, while younger runners can take part if accompanied by a parent or guardian. Registration costs ₹100.

The event will also include fitness-based post-run contests at Lammual, followed by a concert featuring local singers.
