Samba Hosts District-Level Volleyball Tournament Under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan

Inter-Block tournament at HSS Vijaypur promotes sports, teamwork and discipline; DC Ayushi Sudan urges youth to stay away from drugs and embrace sports.

The District Administration Samba organised the Inter-Block District Level Volleyball Tournament 2026 at Higher Secondary School Vijaypur under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, with enthusiastic participation from young sportspersons from across the district.

The tournament provided a platform for youth to showcase their sporting talent while promoting the values of teamwork, discipline and healthy living. The event also sought to reinforce the message of combating drug abuse through greater participation in sports and constructive activities.

The final match and presentation ceremony were attended by Deputy Commissioner Samba Ayushi Sudan, IAS, who encouraged the participating players to pursue excellence in sports and maintain a healthy and disciplined lifestyle.

During the concluding ceremony, the players and participants also took a pledge to stay away from drugs and contribute towards making the country drug-free.

The winning team was awarded a cash prize of ₹50,000, while the runner-up received ₹25,000 and the team securing third place was awarded ₹15,000.

The tournament concluded with a strong message for the youth to channel their energy towards sports and other positive pursuits. The initiative reinforced the campaign's slogan, “Say No to Drugs, Yes to Sports,” while highlighting the role of sporting activities in promoting a drug-free society.
