Jammu Administration Reviews Arrangements for Navratri, Ram Navami, Dussehra
ADC Ansuya Jamwal directs officials to ensure foolproof security, traffic management, sanitation, parking, power, water and health facilities at major festival venues.
The Jammu District Administration has reviewed arrangements for the upcoming nine-day Navratri, Ram Navami and Dussehra festivals, with focus on ensuring adequate security and essential public facilities at major religious and celebration venues across the district.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Jammu Ansuya Jamwal chaired a meeting to assess the preparedness of various departments and directed officials to ensure coordinated arrangements for the smooth conduct of the festivities.
Arrangements at major shrines, including Bahu Fort Temple, Kol Kandoli Temple and Laxmi Narayan Temple, were reviewed in detail. Preparations for Dussehra celebrations at Parade Ground, Sainik Colony, Channi Himmat and Gandhi Nagar were also discussed.
The ADC directed Police and Traffic Police to ensure foolproof security, effective barricading, crowd management, traffic diversions and designated parking facilities at key locations. She also called for expeditious processing of Ram Leela permissions, subject to prescribed safety norms.
The Jammu Municipal Corporation was directed to maintain proper sanitation, ensure regular garbage lifting, deploy mobile toilets and undertake fogging to control mosquitoes. Adequate street lighting and night illumination at temples, Ram Leela venues and Dussehra grounds were also emphasised.
The Power Development Department and Jal Shakti Department were asked to ensure uninterrupted power and regular water supply during the festival period.
The Health Department was directed to deploy medical teams, ambulances and first-aid facilities at important locations to meet any medical requirement.
Emphasising the role of religious organisations and festival committees, Jamwal called for their close cooperation with the administration to ensure the safety and convenience of devotees and visitors. She also directed langar organisers to strictly follow food safety protocols.
The meeting was attended by SDM South Manu Hansa, SDM North Dr Deepak Kumar, Assistant Commissioner General Sania Haq Khan, Additional SP Traffic City Arvinder Singh, SDPO City North Vikram Bhau, officers of various departments and representatives of religious bodies.
