BREAKING: Thunderstorm Alert Issued for 13 Telangana Districts on October 5

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a thunderstorm forecast for 13 districts in Telangana on October 5, warning of lightning, gusty winds, and heavy rainfall. The alert covers districts including Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Medak, and others, with authorities urging residents to take precautions.

According to IMD officials, the thunderstorms are likely to occur due to a trough of low pressure over the Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas, combined with moisture incursion from the Arabian Sea. Wind speeds could reach 30-40 kmph, and rainfall may exceed 20 mm in some areas. The Telangana State Disaster Management Authority has been put on standby to respond to any emergencies.

The forecast comes amid the ongoing northeast monsoon season, which has already caused flooding in parts of the state. Farmers in the affected districts are advised to harvest mature crops and secure livestock. The IMD has also cautioned against venturing outdoors during the storms and advised people to stay away from trees and electrical poles. Further updates are expected as the situation develops.
