New Delhi, October 7: The government has appointed Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit as the 29th Chief of the Air Staff. Air Marshal Dixit, currently serving as Vice Chief of the Air Staff, will take charge in the rank of Air Chief Marshal from October 31, 2026.
Air Marshal Dixit was commissioned into the fighter stream of the Indian Air Force in 1986 and has more than 3,500 hours of flying experience on aircraft including the Mirage-2000, MiG variants, Jaguar and Tejas.
He has also served as Chief of Integrated Defence Staff and Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Central Air Command, and has been involved in several operations, including Safed Sagar, Rakshak and Sindoor.
He has been awarded the Param Vishisht Seva Medal, Ati Vishisht Seva Medal, Vishisht Seva Medal and Vayu Sena Medal.
